How is dosage determined?
The recommended adult dosage is based on a 150 lb person. We suggest using Clark’s Rule: take the person’s weight, divide by 150, and multiply the fractional result by the adult dose to find the equivalent dosage. When is an alcohol-based tincture not an appropriate choice?
An alcohol base may not be appropriate for infants and small children under the age of 2, as well as for individuals who have an alcohol problem or a liver affliction. Glycerine tinctures, solid extracts, or liquid capsules may be a better choice for those who fall into these categories.
