The process begins with detailed specifications to the growers. The appropriate part of the plant must be harvested, it must be harvested at the right time of year, and harvesting must occur when the plant is at peak potency.
Only whole herbs are acceptable for processing; lab technicians meticulously examine each piece of botanical received. This process takes hours, as they sort and remove inferior pieces, woody stems, yellow leaves, and potential adulterants. Once accepted, the botanical matter is tinctured using a unique alchemical extraction process based on traditional Chinese, Indian and
Egyptian techniques. Once the plant matter is tinctured, the residue is removed and reduced to white ash, which contains essential minerals. These calcined minerals are then rejoined with the extract, creating a truly unique product which contains the full spectrum of the plant’s nutrients and essence.
Herbalists test the final product for taste, aroma, colour, appearance and activity, using organoleptic and laboratory testing procedures. Through a partnership with Rutgers University, third party testing is performed for heavy metals, aflatoxins, microbes, pesticides, and herbicides.
